Yes you can. However, keep in mind that it does change the texture of the dish a bit, but, still turns out tasty.
I personally find that parmesan is already a very salty cheese, and I don’t find I need to add more salt. So if you normally like salty food you can add a sprinkle of salt, but I would be cautious of adding too much salt.
