Equipment
11x15 baking sheet
Ingredients
2 1/4
cups
rolled oats
sometimes called old-fashioned oats
2
cups
brown sugar
2
cups
whole wheat flour
5
large eggs
1 1/2
tablets butter
3/4 cup, softened
3/4
cup
dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
optional: substitute raisins for chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet with butter and dust with flour.
In a bowl, mix together all ingredients except the chocolate chips. You may need to use your hands to ensure everything is well combined.
Once the mixture is combined, gently fold in the chocolate chips. Note: the mixture will be sticky, and that’s okay.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet and spread it out evenly. This requires some patience due to the sticky texture.
Bake for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until golden and set.
Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

The number of bars you get depends on how large or small you cut them. The calorie count will vary accordingly and is only an estimate.
