Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Ziplock bag or food processor for crushing cornflakes
  • Food processor or grater
  • meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1/2 an Onion
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup of parsley: you can use green onion instead if you prefer
  • 1/2 cup of Oat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 peeled and chopped carrot
  • 1 tbsp ground chia seeds and 1 tbsp ground flax seeds optional: I like to add these for their nutritional value, but, you can totally skip this if you do not want to include them.
  • Salt to taste around 1 tbsp
  • 3/4 cup of Cornflakes for that extra crunch: If you just want a regular burger, you can skip this as well. Without the cornflakes, your burger won't be crispy, but it will still taste great!
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 4 Hamburger buns plus your favorite toppings like cheese, lettuce, tomatoes etc.

Instructions

  • In a food processor, blend onions, herbs, egg, until finely minced.
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
  • Divide the mixture into four parts, wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking, and shape the burger patties.
  • Crush cornflakes in a Ziplock bag or food processor, add it to a medium size bowl together with the paprika and the garlic powder. Coat each patty in it for that crispy exterior.
  • Place chicken patties in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlapping. Spray with olive oil and air fry it.
  • When your patties are looking golden brown, turn them, spray with some more olive oil and continue air frying until the other side is also golden brown. At this point your burguer are likely done, but it is best to check the internal temperature is safe to eat.

Notes

  1. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to do this in batches since you might not be able to spread out four patties in a single layer without overlapping your patties.
  2. Calories are just an estimate
