Ingredients

Bulgogi

  • 800 g thinly sliced sirloin or tender prime beef cut
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 stalks green onion
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Marinade

  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugat
  • 2 tbsp rice wine
  • 5 tbsp grated red apple gala, pink lady or fuji or use an asian pear
  • 1 tsp minced garlic

Instructions

  • Mix all marinade ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Pat the meat dry with paper towels to remove excess blood.
  • Place the meat in the bowl with the marinade and mix well.
  • Cover the bowl and marinate preferably overnight.
  • Thinly slice the onions, carrots, and green onions.
  • Preheat a wok or skillet over medium heat and add cooking oil.
  • Sauté the sliced onions until they are soft and translucent
  • Add the beef and cook until it starts to brown.
  • Add the veggies and stir occasionally until everything is cooked through.
  • Stir in the sesame seeds.
  • Serve hot.
